Old Job / New Job
Well, after 3 fine years, I've left my Job at Safeway. Unlike some of my other colleagues, I'm not overjoyed by having left. I'm excited about the new possibilities in my life, but I'll never regret having worked at Safeway, or having stayed so long. It was a great job, with great pay, great benefits, and GREAT people. Rob, Dave, Brooke, Suzanne, Kalpna, Noel, Amanda, Anna, Laurie, Pam, Dan, Michel, Wanda, Sarah, Shellley, Bill, Roger, Sharon, Erica, Ryan, Brandon. These are a handful of the dozens of amazing people I had the honor of working with at Safeway. In many ways, it was my first taste or adult life, teaching me the responsibility and respect that were sorely lacking in my youth. For better or worse, the skills of humbling myself before belligerent customers will always be useful, as will the patience and calm that doing so repeatedly breeds.
I'm am proud of Safeway, proud of the time I spent there, and will always be proud to say that Safeway is where I came from. Thank you, everyone.
The new gig at White-Knight seems like it will be a good one, although I've only worked one day. The people seem... unique. In a good way. I'll let you guys know, ok?
